November 3-6\, 2016  \n  \nThe 2016 Colorado State EMS Conference Is thrilled to announce Tricia Downing and Sally Spencer Thomas as this year’s Keynote Speakers! \n  \nTricia Downing \nFor Tricia Downing\, a competitive athlete\, life was about an active existence\, freedom\, and seeking out her next big adventure. That was\, until the day tragedy struck and everything changed. \nEmbark on a journey of self-discovery and explore the essence of the human spirit with our speaker as she shares how strength\, courage and perseverance turn “I Can’t” into “I Can” when faced with seemingly overwhelming challenges. \n  \nSally Spencer-Thomas \nAs a Clinical phycologist\, mental health advocate\, faculty member\, consumer of mental health services\, and survivor of her brother’s suicide\, Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas sees issues of suicide prevention and mental health promotion from many perspectives. \nKnown nationally and internationally as innovators in social change\, the Carson J Spencer Foundation helped start up multiple large-scale\, gap filling efforts in mental health including Man Therapy (www.ManTherapy.org) and Working Minds (www.WorkingMinds.org). Physicians\, FFL Nurses\, Respiratory Therapists\, Pre-Hospital Agencies\, RN’s\, PA’s and NP’s \n\nDifficult airway management- Presented by Dr. Burton\nIndications\, considerations\, and procedure for an emergent surgical airway related to hospital (Presentation by CSSA Provider) and pre-hospital (Presentation by David White\, FFL RN)\n\n“Hands on” Station 1 \n\nSurgical Airway (Cricothyrotomy and Tracheostomy) – Demonstrate using sheep trachea – similar to human trachea.
