TARGET AUDIENCE: Anesthesiologists, Trauma Surgeons, Emergency Dept. Physicians, FFL Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Pre-Hospital Agencies, RN’s, PA’s and NP’s
- Difficult airway management- Presented by Dr. Burton
- Indications, considerations, and procedure for an emergent surgical airway related to hospital (Presentation by CSSA Provider) and pre-hospital (Presentation by David White, FFL RN)
“Hands on” Station 1
- Surgical Airway (Cricothyrotomy and Tracheostomy) – Demonstrate using sheep trachea – similar to human trachea. CSSA Provider & David White, FFL RN
“Hands on” Station 2
- Go to the OR to locate appropriate difficult airway and trauma equipment and “play” with glidescope and other airway equipment.
- The Pre-Hospital/Hospital will alternate between the stations
